KCME - Kid's Club & Mom's Empowerment

A free program to recover together after violence.

A program designed to meet a deep need.

For many years, Logifem has been supporting women, with or without children, who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. For a large number of them, this residential instability is linked to a history of domestic violence. Over time, we have observed that housing, while essential, is not enough on its own to achieve lasting stability and begin the process of rebuilding. This is why we have developed a continuum of services that supports women beyond housing, helping them on their journey toward autonomy and consolidating their progress over time. In this spirit, Logifem has chosen to launch KCME – Kid’s club & mom’s empowerment, a program that perfectly aligns with our mission of comprehensive psychosocial and residential support. By offering a space for both mothers and children, KCME promotes strengthening the parent-child bond, empowering mothers, and developing strategies to better understand, identify, and cope with the effects of experienced violence, all within a caring, safe, and adapted environment.

A program based on evidence and recognized expertise.

KCME was developed by Sandra A. Graham-Bermann, a professor at the University of Michigan and a renowned researcher on the impacts of domestic violence on mothers and children. Her research has demonstrated the importance of simultaneously intervening with mothers and their children by providing safe spaces where each can:

• Express their emotions.
• Better understand the impacts of violence
• Develop concrete strategies to enhance their well-being and resilience.
