This summer we have been busy improving our shelter with the help of two grants, one given by World Vision and one by Home Depot.

World Vision has helped us to improve our facilities so that they are better adapted to the needs of women with children.  We have created six larger bedrooms so that women with children have more space and we have almost finished a wonderful light, bright and airy playroom in what used to be our residents’ boutique (the boutique has been given a new home too). We are very excited about these changes, especially the playroom as it gives us a great space where the children can run around and play in a safe environment. We are also planning to organise family activities from time to time. If you have any good quality toys or books that you would like to donate for our new playroom, please email us: familles@logifem.org. Thank you World Vision!

Home Depot has helped us begin the massive task of repainting the shelter, replacing ceiling tiles and replacing our picnic benches.  All of the corridors and stairwells now have a fresh coat of “Moon Mist” paint and the doors and trim are “Powdered Snow”. Not only did Home Depot provide the finance for this project through a campaign in which they invited customers to help build their communities, but they also sent three teams of volunteers to do the manual labour on three different days.  We are thrilled with the results!  Thank you Home Depot!
